HUD Secretary announces bus tour on affordable housing

Today, HUD Secretary Carson announced that the Department will lead a bus tour across the nation focused on removing barriers to affordable housing stock. Titled “Driving Affordable Housing Across America,” the listening tour will kick off in Louisville, Kentucky at the end of this month.

In an effort to highlight the work of the White House Council on Eliminating Regulatory Barriers to Affordable Housing, the tour will make stops in various local communities to discuss the need for more affordable housing. To read more about the listening tour, please view HUD’s webpage here.

Earlier this month, HUD extended their deadline for submitting comments on how to eliminate regulatory barriers to affordable housing development. Please send NAHMA any comments or ideas by Thursday, January 30th. More information on HUD’s request for comments is available here, and the updated Notice with the extended deadline is available here.
