Congress to vote on a second Continuing Resolution

Next week, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on another continuing resolution (CR) funding bill to keep the government operating through Dec. 20. The current CR expires on November 21st, giving Congress only a few days next week to pass another CR or face a government shutdown. President Trump and Senate leadership have expressed support for a CR through December 20, in hopes of providing lawmakers more time to pass full-year funding bills before the end of year recess. The Senate will likely pass the CR later in the week.

NAHMA Participates in RAD Stakeholder Meeting

This week, NAHMA staff joined industry partners to participate in a HUD roundtable discussion on an evaluation of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.  The event included remarks from HUD Secretary Carson and insights from policy staffs from HUD’s Office of Recapitalization and Office of Policy Development and Research. HUD’s evaluation of RAD can be found here. The evaluation provides evidence that RAD is stimulating billions of dollars in capital investment, improving living conditions for low-income residents, and preserving critical affordable housing resources. A NAHMAnalysis on this report will be available in the near future.

Next week’s Washington Update will cover the status of Govt.
