There was no significant housing-related activity in Congress this week. Hearings on the Section 8 block grant will continue in the House Financial Services Housing Subcommittee next week.
It is worth noting that President Bush has nominated Joshua B. Bolton to succeed Mitch Daniels as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. This was Daniels’ last week at OMB. Don’t expect significant change in the direction of OMB. In accepting the nomination, Bolton promised the President, “If confirmed by the Senate, I’ll be a tireless advocate for your agenda and a tight-fisted custodian of the people’s money.” (Emphasis added.)
