Urge Congress to Support Affordable Housing Programs During Funding Negotiations
Congress is negotiating government funding levels for the rest of this fiscal year (FY18).
Ask lawmakers to fully fund affordable housing programs.
Temporary stopgap funding measures are harmful to families living in affordable housing, and they are harmful to our industry.
- Request full funding: Urge your lawmakers to enact full-year funding for HUD and USDA housing programs. Fiscal Year 2018 Factsheet is attached and available here.
Urge Congress to support the Housing Credit during funding negotiations.
Advocate to strengthen the Housing Credit.
As Congress negotiates the spending bills, help us build support for provisions that strengthen the production and preservation of affordable rental housing throughout the country.
- Relay the message to Congressional leadership: Please ask your legislators to urge Congressional leadership to include provisions of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act in the tax extension package. The attached sample letters can be customized to your respective Senators or Representatives.
- Build Co-Sponsorship by Majority Members: Encourage your Members of Congress to cosponsor the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act – especially majority members.
Please take a moment to email your lawmakers.
