About the VA-AHMA
The Virginia Affordable Housing Management Association (AHMA)
was established in 1993 as a professional association of managers
and owners of affordable multi-family housing.
The future of the affordable housing industry is changing
rapidly. The Virginia AHMA seeks to respond to the needs of
Virginia's affordable housing professionals in this changing
environment by providing:
- opportunities for the expansion of members' skills and
knowledge via continuing education
- networking opportunities with other professionals in the
specialized field of affordable housing
- a medium for the exchange of information with regulatory
agencies
- monitoring of regulatory and legislative issues
- representation to HUD, Congress, and other agencies
- professional certification opportunities to recognize
your professionalism
VA-AHMA is a member of the National Affordable Housing Management
Association (NAHMA) and is endorsed by the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development and the Virginia Housing
Development Authority.
You are invited to take part in our mission by becoming a
member of our association.
Types of Membership
Regular/Organization Member
Any owner or managing agent who is managing HUD-approved and/or
other housing affordable to lower-income Americans due to
governmental housing programs. All employees of a regular
member/organization are entitled to "member rates" at VA-AHMA-sponsored
events. Member organizations designate a representative as
the primary member contact and voting member.
Regular/Individual Member
Any real owner, operator, or other individual with an interest
in affordable housing and dedicated to the purposes of this
corporation. Regular/individual membership grants voting privileges
to the member and entitles the individual member only to "member
rates" at AHMA-sponsered events.
Associate Member
Any individual and/or company that provides products or services
to the affordable housing industry. Associate members are not
voting members.
